First, prepare the universal creamy pasta base with sun-dried tomatoes. Then finish the dish with one of three delicious toppings:
- creamy burrata for a simple elegant pasta
- sautéed mushrooms for an earthy flavor
- savory Italian sausage for a hearty meal
Using one base sauce makes this recipe quick, flexible, and perfect for busy weeknights or impressive dinners.

- 2 burrata balls
- 1–2 tbsp sun-dried tomato oil
- Fresh black pepper
- Fresh basil or parsley

- Serve pasta hot in bowls.
- Tear burrata and place on top of pasta.
- Drizzle with sun-dried tomato oil.

- Cook the pasta
- Boil pasta in well-salted water until al dente.
- Reserve ½ cup pasta water, drain, and set aside.
- Build the sauce base
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sun-dried tomato oil and sliced sun-dried tomatoes.
- Cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds (do not brown).
- Pour in heavy cream and stir gently.
- Add Parmesan and black pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Combine
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce.
- Toss to coat, loosening with pasta water if needed.
