Instruction:
- Crush the savoiardi cookies with a rolling pin or in a bag until fine crumbs.
- Combine mascarpone, cookie crumbs, powdered sugar, coffee, and optional Amaretto in a mixer. Mix until smooth and evenly combined.
- If the mixture is too thick, add a bit more coffee. If too loose, add more cookie crumbs
- Mix until smooth and evenly combined
- Form balls about 27 g/1 oz. each.
- Roll balls in cocoa powder until coated.
- Optional: place a small roasted nut or chocolate piece in the center of each ball.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours to firm up.
- Before serving, sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar for decoration.
Tips:
- For a lighter texture, replace part of the mascarpone with whipped cream (unsweetened).
- Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
